Thanks

Well.....the rubble is cleared...kinda
the dust is slowly settling....
Not every thing went quite as planned....
BUT...we rolled with it.. and to quote Captain Anna - (that ain't nuthin)
I'm not sitting nekkid on a rock in the middle of the desert (much to the relief of the flora and fauna) however I think that I have one thing to say about the Big Dang Larp weekend.......
"Ayyup.......that went well"
In all honesty, as tired as I am (there is a stage beyond exhaustion - it's called stupid-tired) and as crazy making and frustrating as things got now and then... I had fun..... a lot of it ( but then again I'm kind of masochistic)
I have to say the whole weekend was a reconfirmation of everything that's wonderful about Browncoats - those who came - you can stand proud and know you're among the finest people in the 'verse.
many memories were made to be cherished always (and more than a couple new friends as well) . From seeing John Boucher sitting up on top of a tree talking on his cell phone, to hearing Spot sing for the first time in many years, to listening to the hall ring with laughter...to realizing that even though I didn't have it on the menu that I had to have well over 1000 pounds of grade A Ham on site (y'all ain't right- in the very best of ways).
It was a lot of work (insane amounts of work and I'm gettin' too old for it)...but I've said it before...and I'll say it again..I am royally blessed with the best gorram crew in the verse  Wickedly funny, amazingly talented, hard working, pretty damned pretty and just a metric buttload of fun....The Greenville and Charlotte coats represented in a big way...and they had some wonderful help from Raleigh, Georgia and New Mexico.
Thank you all so much for coming...and for all of your help ( I couldn't have done it without you - you were amazing!)  and all the laughs.
Please stay tuned...there will be site updates with pictures soon as I get 'em and I get the time to post them.
Legends were born......

songs will be sung - this is what happens when you invite filkers to an event.

*taking a deep breath*

I hope to see you all again next year...at Big Dang Larp 2

Date and location to be announced....stay tuned.

-The old fat woman in charge.

Extra Special Angels

Big E - who came to cook and became a Browncoat in training.

Danny S - who always comes and does his fair share then steps up to the plate and does 4 or 5 other people's fair share as well.

Spot and Eric -  For so many things - I can't even begin to say how much help y'all were or how much of a blessing it is to have met you both. Spot...practice! I can't wait to hear you sing again. No way in hell are you going to hide that talent again - you've been outed in front of witnesses....and John Blousser got it all on tape!

Gordon Ford - we're getting too old for this baby but damned if we can't still do it with style! You rock!

GM Stofega - who put together all the character packets did a gazillion net searchs and helped iron out the combat system...and hammed. shamelessly.

Bill Boucher - who helped create the combat system and who came from so many miles away, looks awesome in a mighty fine hat and who's a damned good sport and not half bad bellydancer...

Sorry that we didn't have more dancing...maybe next time.

David Galloway - who doesn't like Larps, and just got out of the hospital but came any way and worked his tail off - because he's just that kinda guy.

Teri Whovi- oh hell I'm too tire to spell her last name  I'm too stupid tired right now ...but...she's 140 lbs of Georgia ham and a complete delight!  It's not often that you have an honored guest who'll stand and do dishes while in full widow's weeds.

Maer - who edited typos, hung lanterns and schelped things with grace and good will. ...and who looks mighty fine in a slinky dress!

Julie-cat- who was as always a joy, a goddess and my good strong right arm when I need something. It's a damned shame we live in the same town and never manage to get together.

Carolyn and Chuck - who came even though they'd worked a grueling week and did errands and set up a shop - all with smiles and much laughter.

Evil - who labeled bottles, carted boxes, did errands and just plain worked her butt off.

Holly and George Gorrell - who opened their home for playtesting the rules and who came back and helped with cleanup.

If you don't see your name here it's not because I don't  appreciate you...god knows I do. BUT these folks went above and beyond.

But they always do...they're browncoats and that's just their nature.

There are a number of names not on here  - not because I don't love 'em for all their help but because I'm too stupid-tired to remember their names.  More names will be added after I have more sleep.

Every one who attended should give themselves a big pat on the back.

Y'all done good.

It's not often you can get that many people in one place without some sort of ruckus breaking out. Every one was delightful... loud..funny, quirky...and mighty fine looking all weekend.

You're a right shiny bunch of miscreants!

I look forward to misbehaving with y'all in the future.
